In November 2014 I was selected to take part in the Creative Scotland Place Partnership project. Working with Perth Museum and Art Gallery I was comissioned to make a bronze sculpture based on the theme "Endangered Species" to be showcased at the "Past, Present, Future" exhibition as part of the museum's natural history collection. I decided to comemorate one of the last remaining male Northern white rhinos at the time, Angalifu. Sadly he passed away in early 2015. I had chosen to work with bronze, making a rhino horn surrounded by shards of glass to emphasize the vulnerablity of the species. I had the honour of being mentored by Fanny Lam Christie, a Perthshire based artist originally from Hong Kong, working at her studio in Blairgowrie and also at the Scottish Sculpture Workshop in Lumsden where the work was created. The work was finally exhibited in early 2015.
